[Update: This will replace the brewery’s Hefeweizen. Looks like Sierra Nevada made a good call bringing its Hefeweizen to the market.]
(Boston, MA) – Keeping this brief as I’m on a commuter rail train at the moment but Boston Beer Company is poised to add another beer to its Brewmaster’s Collection sometime this year. In previous years, the brewery has introduced as part of this line: a Honey Porter, Black Lager, Brown Ale, Irish Red, and most recently, the Blackberry Witbier.
The brewery has taken a different approach than it has with the others with Samuel Adams Coastal Wheat. The new beer was not a winner of the annual Samuel Adams Beer Lover’s Choice Competition as others have been. This year’s contest pits a Pilsner against a Pale Ale/IPA.
Sam Adams has TOO MANY DAMN BEERS! I usually would not complain about variety, but COME ON!

Coastal Wheat is not an additional beer in the lineup but rather a reformulation and renaming of their Hefeweizen which has existed for a while in their portfolio.
I look forward to trying Coastal Wheat.
Good call, Rob. I was wondering why I wasn’t hearing/reading anything on Coastal Wheat.
Nothing will ever compare to Sam’s Boston Brick Red.
I have Had the costal wheat, at the brewery its is amazing, its like summer ale on steroids, I love it
This is probably the best beer I’ve ever had!!!! I will be buying this on a frequent basis.
