(Brooklyn Center, MN) – Surly Brewing will put another beer in cans this summer.
Surly Hell
debuted last August as a draft-only beer, making the rounds through the upper Midwest bar scene and the Great Tast of the Midwest. Head Brewer, Todd Haug (aka Masterchief), reported on Beer Advocate yesterday that Surly is brewing 120 bbl this year and that, between draft and now cans, it won’t last much longer than a few weeks. He noted that they planned on brewing a lot more next year.
According to the label, “Not unlike a Zwickel Bier from Germany, Hell is not filtered and fermented with lager yeast. American hops take a back seat to the Pils malt sweetness and fresh bread aroma.”
