Allagash Brewing gets approval for Fluxus

(Portland, ME) – Allagash Brewing received label approval this week for Allagash Fluxus 2009. To re-hash info from my early June post, the 2009 edition of this annually changing recipe is “a Belgian-style saison ale brewed with sweet potato and black pepper. Numerous pilot batches were brewed to find the delicate balance necessary when spicing with pepper.” The ABV ended up at 8.3%. This will be available in 750 mL bottles and on draft later this summer.

Also on the Allagash front, Rob Tod updated the brewery Twitter account with a brief update on Mattina Rossa. The brewery recently added some Maine raspberries to this wild red ale which is currently aging in French oak barrels (on top of the 350+ lbs. already in there?). Tod said that the beer would be released in winter early 2010.
