Allagash Vagabond arrives this fall

(Portland, ME) – Allagash Brewing‘s next beer in its limited release 375 mL series, Vagabond, just got label approval. Rob Tod indicated on Twitter that the brewery bottled it a couple weeks ago and that it should be available in approximately two months.

The first beer in the series, Gargamel, came out this past spring. Whereas that beer was aged in French oak for over 18 months, this one has been aged for over three years. I have an email out to the brewery to see how else the profile for this beer might be different.

Every beer in this series is a limited run of approximately 500 bottles and only sold at the brewery.

Aside from Vagabond, there are some interesting tidbits floating around via Twitter:

-Mattina Rossa should be ready late this winter
-“Just loaded #2,000 pounds of freshly picked sour cherries into a 45bbl tank… Will age for ~2 years” http://yfrog.com/3sgj2j
-“First taste of Batch 1 spontaneous beer with a rasberry addition(brewed 18months ago. Fruit added ~7/30)” http://yfrog.com/14ekgoj

The brewery updated its website with a few more specs on Fluxus ’09, news that it is now going with pry off caps, and a little info on being 100% wind-powered.
