(Ithaca, NY) – Ithaca Beer Co. has a new seasonal coming out called, “Cold Front.” “It is a spicy dark amber belgian-inspired ale fermented with a legendary saison yeast.” according to Jeff O’Neil. “It’ll be in 6-packs, Variety Packs and on draft starting in September and running until mid-winter.”

Ithaca Outdoor Ale is the brewery’s fresh hop pale ale that went into the tanks last week. It features fresh, local Willamette hops from Pedersen Farms in Seneca Castle, New York. Although it is still going to be draft-only, Ithaca is making a double batch of it this year. Look for it the first week of September.

Finally, there is yet another collaboration on which to report! Last week, O’Neil traveled to Captain Lawrence Brewing to meet up with folks there and from Southampton Brewery. There they brewed a beer that they have dubbed, “NY3.” Not only will this beer be featured at New York Craft Beer Week next month, it is the official beer of the ten-day festival.

Per the NYC Beer Week site: “Please join us as a cask of NY3, the official beer of NY Craft Beer Week 2009, is tapped at 6pm [on Sept. 11th] at all three bars to officially open the Week [Ratle and Hum, Amity Hall, and Swift]. Servings of this beer will be limited to Passport holders only, who will each be presented with a complimentary 8 oz pour. Servings are first come, first serve and available as long as the firkin lasts.”

O’Neil says that it’s a Farmhouse Ale brewed with local honey from each of the three brewers. The beer is dry-hopped with hops from Pedersen Farms, Willamette being the predominant hop for this brew.
