(Copenhagen, DENMARK) – If you’ve been following this site for a while, then you know the drill when it comes to the Mikkeller Single Hop Series. Mikkeller Centennial is the latest addition to get approved for export to the States. If I am keeping track properly, this is number 8. Two other bottle label approvals have come through as well . . .
Mikkeller Amarillo and Tomahawk, which got U.S. approval in May, were recently mentioned on the Mikkeller site as hitting the Danish market in the next month so it is likely that we would see these in the U.S. shortly thereafter.
1) Mikkeller Big Worst Barley Wine
This one is amped up from the previous 12% to 20% ABV and is the second mutation of the original version: Mikkeller Big Bad Barley Wine. According to Mikkeller’s site, ingredients used in last year’s version include: “malt (pils and caramunich), candy sugar, hops (nugget, cascade and centennial) and ale yeast.”
2) Mikkeller To Via From
Another Christmas beer from Mikkeller and what appears to be a mutation of Mikkeller To/From and Mikkeller From/To. Not sure yet how either of these beers are different from their predecessors but stay tuned.
Also on the way will be some Mikkeller beers on draft. I now have the unofficial list. Some of these are familiar and some of them are surprises.
Mikkeller To Via From
Mikkeller Dream – I believe this is the same as the American Dream discussed on the Mikkeller blog. Good luck deciphering the English translation but all I got out of it was “wild, violent hops.”
