Troegs Java Head Stout coming soon, Scratch #22 debuts

(Harrisburg, PA) – Troegs Brewing will soon debut a new beer in bombers: Troegs Java Head. GreatBrewers.com (one of Troegs’ distributors) is reporting that the beer was already available in NYC, NJ, and MA as of last week though Java Head was brewed very recently so that seems doubtful. Here’s a photo from “brewday” uploaded to Flickr on 7/28. [note: Nice work on the skullhead label, too.]

Here is the beer description from GreatBrewers:

“We teamed up with St. Thomas Roasters of Linglestown, PA to create a special blend of espresso beans. They added Kenyan beans to the mix because of a strong citrus flavor that compliments the hops. Creating an environment akin a French press, the beans are combined with whole flower hops in the hopback, and the hot wort passes through the vessel on the way to fermentation giving Java Head a lush coffee espresso nose and hints of coffee flavor. There is a silky quality to the mouthfeel and a citrus aromas from the combination of Kenyan beans and whole flower hops.

Strength (ABV): 7.5% ABV
Color (SRM): 42ยบ L
Bitterness (IBU): 60 IBU”

Also, Troegs Scratch #22, a Belgian-style Witbier, was stealthily released this weekend. The brewery posted a note on its Facebook page (hopefully that link works) but has not yet updated its website:
