(Lake Mills, WI) – According to Tyranena‘s Rob Larson, the brewery will bottle its first pumpkin ale for distribution in 6-packs this fall. Larson hopes that Tyranena Painted Ladies will be ready to go out the door in September. The beer pays tribute to the Painted Ladies Annual Fling, scheduled for October 10th this year. Here is more from the label:

“The Painted Ladies Annual Fling celebrates the renaissance of downtown Lake Mills. Although named for the restoration of the many Victorian storefronts, some of the more adventurous women-folk added a playful twist and dressed as, well, painted ladies. Inspired by these bold and spicy women, we brewed Painted Ladies, a pumpkin and spice-infused amber ale. This fall, make sure you enjoy a fling with a few Painted Ladies!”

Last year, Tyranena made its first pumpkin ale though it was tap-only. From a brewery newsletter sent last November: “It looked pumpkin-like in color and should finish around 7.5% in alcohol. We used 158 pounds of pumpkin in a 21 barrel batch and then added several pounds of “pumpkin pie” spice in the whirlpool. We’ll see how the pumpkin comes through and how the spice level ultimately ends up… after all, we were just guessing on the amounts to use.”

Tyranena Sheep Shagger is another new beer you might find this winter.

  1. Yeah another pumpkin beer to try! And Tyranena usually puts out pretty solid stuff so looking forward to giving this one a try. We might have to do another Halloween episode of the Hop Cast.
