(Charleston, SC) – Coast Brewing will soon release the first beers off of its new 22 oz. bottling line: 32/50 Kolsch and Hop Art IPA. The brewery is waiting on labels but expect to see the brews on shelves sometime this month around Charleston (and other limited spots in SC). They will be available year-round though seasonals will be next on the bottling line (more on that below).

“It will be the first time we bottle consistently as everything had been seasonal and done by hand in the past,” says Coast Co-Owner Jaime Tenny, “This has been a big endeavor for us.”

Unlike Hop Art, the 4.8% ABV 32/50 Kolsch has previously been unavailable in bottles. Brewery description (click here for ingredients): “Our take on a kolsch style ale that is soft on the palate with a delicate malt flavor. Balanced with a touch of wheat and honey notes. Dry and wine-like with a flowery hop finish.”

The next seasonals to come from Coast are: DIPA, Chocolate Rye Brown, Smoked Porter, Blackbeerd RIS and our first Barleywine. Some will be draft-only and some will be bottled. Tenny confirmed that they will bottle Blackbeerd and the Barleywine but haven’t decided on the rest.

Tenny, who played a major role in getting pro-beer legislation passed as President of Pop the Cap South Carolina, is working on moving more legislation forward as part of the re-organized South Carolina Brewers Association. He noted that the SCBA hopes to have a new improved bill pre-filed in December.
