FULL SAIL BREWING COMPANY RELEASES BREWMASTER RESERVE- VESUVIUS BELGIAN GOLDEN ALE
Hood River, OR – Full Sail Brewing Company is proud to announce the
release of their latest Brewmaster Reserve Beer, Vesuvius Belgian Golden
Ale. First brewed four years ago on August 24th, the beer was named
after Mount Vesuvius that erupted that same day, in 79 A.D.
According to Full Sail Brewmaster John Harris, Vesuvius is brewed in the
Belgian Golden Ale style. These beers are known for being light in
color, but strong in flavor and alcohol. The malt bill is 2-row Pale
malt and a touch of Turbinado sugar. This allows the beer to ferment dry
with low residual sugar. This gives the beer amazing drinkability. The
beer is fermented at a relatively high temperature of 80 degrees
Fahrenheit. This allows wonderful herbal and fruity esters to develop
from the traditional Belgian ale yeast that is used to impart the
classic ester-fruity aromas and flavors of this unique style. Vesuvius
has a light malt character with the warming presence of alcohol and
hopped with Saaz and Styrian Golding hops for a nice balance. ABV: 8.2 %
IBU: 24
“Vesuvius is part of our rotating selection of Brewmaster Reserve beers.
Every ten weeks we come out with a different beer that show cases the
brewer’s art. We began the program back in 1998 as a way of celebrating
our independence and creativity,” said Full Sail’s Founder and CEO,
Irene Firmat.
Vesuvius will be available in 22oz bottles in specialty beer stores and
pubs throughout the Pacific Northwest from September to November. Full
Sail will be serving Vesuvius later this week at the Great American Beer
Festival(r) in Denver Colorado.
