(Blanco, TX) – Real Ale Brewing will release its top-rated beer in bottles for the first time beginning around mid-October (and is/will be available on tap as well). According to Co-Owner, Gabriel Gregerman, the Shade Grown Coffee Porter name has been reduced to Real Ale Coffee Porter for the bottles.
5,000 cases will be produced and the six-packs will be found in many of the HEB stores, Spec’s, Whole Foods, and others in the brewery’s primary markets in Texas. The beer, which uses coffee from Houston-based Katz Coffee, is expected to be available until January.
The beer, previously available only on tap, has earned recognition as the brewery’s top beer on Beer Advocate, sporting a 4.21 average.
In other news, Gregerman notes they just received another 240bbl fermenter and just released their first lager – Oktoberfest (a marzen style on draft, 120bbls produced). The beer just left the warehouse for the distributor’s warehouse last week so it should be on tap in the next week or so.
