(Seattle, WA) – Elysian Brewing, the King of Pumpkin Ales, has released Night Owl Pumpkin Ale to the masses and has two more exclusively for the Seattle area. The brewery is also about to celebrate the 5th Annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival in which at least 25 of the ales will be available on tap in one weekend.
First, the bottles. Elysian has set free 4,000 cases of Night Owl Pumpkin Ale in all of its distribution markets. Night Owl is the brewery’s “flagship” pumpkin ale with a 5.9% ABV and over seven pounds of pumpkin added per barrel. The brewery has also released The Great Pumpkin in the Seattle area to the tune of a very limited 180 cases. This beer has an ABV of 8.1% and is dubbed by the brewery as the world’s first Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Elysian won a silver medal with it at GABF in 2007 (beating 92 entrants). Finally, Elysian Dark o’ the Moon Pumpkin Stout arrives on Seattle shelves next week. 120 cases of the Pumpkin Stout were produced.
These and several other of Elysian’s pumpkin beers will be showcased at the Capitol Hill location for its annual festival on October 10th and 11th. Several breweries will also contribute beers. According to a Beer Advocate press release: “In addition to the Night Owl, the festival will showcase The Great Pumpkin Imperial Pumpkin Ale, Dark o’ the Moon Pumpkin Stout, Hansel and Gretel Ginger Pumpkin Pilsner, Jack o’ Bite Barrel-aged Strong Scottish Pumpkin Ale, Mr. Yuck Sour Pumpkin Ale, Bete N’Owl Dark Belgian-style Pumpkin Ale, and a few others, all from Elysian’s brewers. In addition, 16 guest pumpkin beers will be poured from several Seattle-area brewers as well as special efforts from some of America’s best and most innovative brewers.”
