(Portsmouth, NH) – Here is the latest on Smuttynose Brewing from last evening’s newsletter. Big changes upcoming for the New Hampshire-based brewery!

“Pennsylvania Distribution. For many years, distribution of Smuttynose beers in Pennsylvania has been limited to the southeast portion of the state. We are happy to announce that later this month we will begin shipping to five new wholesalers in the Keystone State, making our beers available throughout (most of) the entire state. You can see our new Pennsylvania wholesalers listed here.

Smuttynose Big A IPA – Yes, it’s official: starting at the end of this year, our Big A IPA will be available year-round in 12-ounce bottles in fourpacks.

As it turns out, Big A IPA also happens to be our next Big Beer Series release. The release party for Big Beer Series Subscribers will take place at the brewery on Friday evening, October 16. We begin shipping Big A IPA to the outside world on October 19th.

This will be the last time Big A appears in the Big Beer Series, which opens up a slot for a new style to join the series. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Our next seasonal, Winter Ale, begins shipping in early November.

We continue to move forward designing our new facility. At this point, we are focused on details, details, details. We expect to have a shovel in the ground sometime during the first half of 2010. We’ll update our blog, Smuttynose Builds its Dream House with more information later in the week.”
