(Easton, PA) – Just got a note forwarded to me from Weyerbacher Head Brewer, Chris Wilson. He’s got some info on the upcoming Brewer’s Select Series beers, Weyerbacher Golf and a glimpse at Hotel.
“Golf is in the tank. It is a fest-weisse hybrid or ‘Festeweizen.’ It will weigh in at approximately %5 and is made with Munich, Wheat, and CaraVienna malts and Spalt hops. It will be released at the Lehigh Valley Brew Fest on October 17th. See the LV Brewfest website for details on the fest. As usual, most will be kegged save a small amount that will be sold directly out of our visitor’s center. At this point, I am not sure where it will be shipped, but keep and eye out on the website for more details.
The only thing that I can tell you about Hotel is that we are planning on doing a porter. Coffee porter, baltic porter, xmas porter? Not sure yet, but I can say that this one will be >9% so that it can be stored until ‘Christmas in July.'”
Other notes: Weyerbacher Winter Ale will be available in the brewery’s visitor’s center beginning Saturday, Oct. 3. Harvest Ale was released less than two weeks ago and is the brewery’s latest beer to hit shelves.
Weyerbacher Brewing has also added two Twitter accounts in recent weeks. In addition to President, Dan Weirback’s, own account where he tweets updates about beer distribution, the brewery is now tweeting under an official account and now has Philadelphia Regional Sales Manager, Michael Lubieski, tweeting.
