(Boston, MA) – In my second article on the 2010 Samuel Adams LongShot beers, I’m featuring Jeremy White’s Lemon Pepper Saison. The Captain’s Chair blog was the first to provide an overview of the winners of the 1,300+ beer competition in late September. In the piece, Aaron reveals that White is actually on the Information Technology staff at the brewery.

The Here for the Beer gang captured White on camera giving an elevator speech about his brew. While the video also features Koch talking about the competition and announcing the winners, if you want to see White, fast forward to the 4:38 mark. In it he reveals some of the ingredients that go into the beer, “Lemon, Black Pepper, Grains of Paradise, and Coriander” (he kind of stumbles and it is hard for me to tell if he uses two different kind of pepper).

Label description: “Pale in appearance, this ale is light-bodied and effervescent with an interesting combination of both fruity flavors. The initial sweetness of vanilla and citrus notes from the fresh lemon peel is followed by the spiciness from the grains of paradise. The finish is slightly tart yet refreshing.” 6.4% ABV.
