(Easton, PA) – Weyerbacher Brewing is releasing its next Brewer’s Select Series beer, Hotel. President, Dan Weirback, reported in a tweet on Monday that the beer would ship out on draft this week. Regional Sales Rep, Mike Lubieski, said on Wednesday that the beer would hit taps very soon. The eighth edition in the series, Hotel, is an 8.4%/65 IBU Imperial Porter.
Here are the details about Hotel from Head Brewer, Chris Wilson:
“This black ale is nearly opaque with a creamy head of coffee-brown foam. It is a full-bodied brew with an aroma of espresso beans, cocoa, and orange peel. Bakers chocolate, roasted coffee and burnt sugar flavors are balanced with an assertive bitterness. This imperial porter is a rich and hearty brew that should bring you some extra cheer during the Holidays. Recipe by Head Brewer, Chris Wilson and Brewer, Dan Hitchcock.”
When asked what would happen to the series in the future, Wilson reponded, “We will be continuing the series and we will also continue using the phonetic alphabet. Weyerbacher India will be brewed sometime in January or early February. I bet you can’t guess what style it will be!?!” Sounds like hopheads have something to be excited about in early 2010.
Also of interest is what the brewery is planning for the release of Insanity and Heresy in early February. Weyerbacher recently received 160 bourbon barrels specifically for these beers.
