(Pleasantville and Southampton, NY) – Captain Lawrence Brewing has announced that it will release Golden Delicious on Saturday, January 30th, at the Pleasantville brewery. It looks like GD was last released around this time two years ago. Consequently, it will fall on the same day as Southampton Brewery releases the 2010 version of its Russian Imperial Stout.

Golden Delicious event info:

Production: 90 Cases
Price/Limit: $15 per bottle/6 bottle limit

Here is the write-up: “There’s nothing quite likes Mom’s apple pie…But I am willing to bet this beer is pretty darn close. An American Tripel, dry-hoped with Amarillo hops and aged in Apple Brandy barrels from one of this country’s oldest distilleries. The tropical aroma of the hops and the delicate apple aroma from the barrels are a perfect match.”

Southampton event info (courtesy of Beer Advocate):

“Annual Release Party featuring our acclaimed Imperial Russian Stout! Other offerings on this day only include our two-time GABF Gold medal winner, Southampton Berliner Weisse, Double Ice Bock, Trappist IPA and a host of other exclusive hand-bottled brews only available at Southampton Publick House. Limited quantities. Doors open at 11:30am.”
