(Petaluma, CA) – Lagunitas Brewing has chosen the theme for its March seasonal/one-off beer.
The brewery tipped its hand a while back with a message on its website: “We Haven’t Figured Out What This One’ll Be… It was Supposed to Follow the 2009 Correction Ale with the Name ‘2010 Recovery Ale’, but it Doesn’t Look Like We’ll Be There by March. WTF?”
WTF, indeed. As in Lagunitas Wilco Tango Foxtrot. This is a 7.3% ABV Brown Ale and a follow-up to the brewery’s 2009 Correction Ale. The brew went into the tanks this past week. Only available in 22 oz. bombers.
On a side note, Lagunitas and many others have introduced a 21+ message before people can enter their website. The Brewers Association got word last year that the feds would be cracking down and doing audits for such things. From what I recall, it was likely to apply to larger breweries though many craft brewers seem to be playing it safe and putting up the barrier. If you’re a small brewer reading this, you may want to consider doing the same. Even I am going to look into it in the near future.
Crazy nonsense about the message boards if I had to guess this is fat cat lobbyists trying to shut down the one channel which macros can’t compete with craft
