(Plymouth, MA) – Mayflower Brewing will release its Barley Wine for the first time in 22 oz. bottles next month on a limited basis. The beer joins Thanksgiving Ale in the Cooper’s Series.
Here is the label description: “Developed in the early 1900s, Barley Wine is a classic English beer style that derives most of its character from the grain itself. We celebrate this heritage with a version based on a single variety of heirloom barley malt: Maris Otter. Aged in oak bourbon barrels for several months, Mayflower Barley Wine Style Ale is a rich and complex brew that will warm your soul.”
“We could not now take time for further search or consideration, our victuals being much spent, especially our beer.” – William Bradford in his firsthand account of the pilgrims at Plymouth.
Also of note, the brewery will introduce it spring seasonal, Summer Rye, to bottles for the first time.
