(Portland, ME) – Shipyard Brewing will introduce its Pugsley’s Signature Series to 12 oz. bottles for the first time starting in March according to VP of Sales and Marketing, Bruce Forsley. XXXX IPA and Imperial Porter will be the beers appearing in the new 4-packs. There are currently no plans for the others to join them though Forsley hinted that Smashed Pumpkin would be the next logical candidate.
When asked why the brewery is adding the new format, Forsley said, “Sales volume is considerably larger in 4-pk and 6-pk format than 22 oz.” The 22 oz. bottles will still be produced though. The 4-packs will be available year-round in CA, MA, FL, ME, NH, with others still being determined.
The brewery released the 22 oz. bottles (including the three aforementioned beers and Barley Wine) in a new variety pack this past fall. Those are still available in some areas.
Lastly, for a hint of what is to come, I heard a while back that the next Pugsley’s Signature Series beer will be Double Thumper, essentially Old Thumper on steroids.
