Troegs Brewing will begin making Java Head Stout a year-round beer soon. The beer debuted in 22 oz. bombers last year and is scheduled to hit shelves in 6-packs around mid-March according to the brewery’s Ed Yashinsky.

The neck label reads, “Java Head passes through a blend of coffee beans and whole flower hops- akin to a French press- releasing cocoa, citrus and java flavors.

Be on the lookout for news on upcoming Splinter Series releases as well.

Mid-Atlantic Brewing News hints at something new to come from Sly Fox Brewing: “Sly Fox is reportedly talking with a Mid-Atlantic brewpub about canning one of the brewpub’s beers sometime this spring.”

In other Sly Fox news, Steph Weber of the Hop Press reports, “there’s a rye pale ale currently in the fermenter called “Terrydactale” (not sure if I got the spelling of that right) which will be available in the pubs soon!”

Finally, Victory Brewing has big plans for the Craft Brewers Conference and will be featuring the following beers that week:

” 1. Saphir Tripel Ale – this will be a Belgian-style Tripel that will be around 9% ABV and once again showcase the combination of esters and fruity Saphir hops.
2. Belgian Pale Ale with Smaragd Hops. Around 6% ABV
3. Belgian Pale Ale with Hallertau Hops. Around 6% ABV
4. Belgian Pale Ale with Hersbrucker Hops. Around 6% ABV
5. Bavarian Pale Ale – details still being formed.”

The brewery is also working with a local coffee shop to develop a new type of coffee beer. Only this time, it isn’t going to be your typical coffee-infused stout. The brewery wants to focus on the “lighter aspects” of coffee and create a lighter-colored coffee beer. See Victory’s Bill Covaleski discuss it in the video below.
