(Fort Collins, CO) – That’s right. It’s been two years since they last released Fort Collins Maibock . . .
The beer is back! It was slated for a March release though the beer has arrived at some locations already. The label reads, “A smooth malty flavor attained from the richness of Munich malts that finishes with gentle warming sweetness. Toffee notes and understated hop bitterness round out the bock experience. Brewed in the fall, aged in the winter and celebrated in the spring.” Packaged in 22 oz. bottles.
Colorado beer blogger, Chipper Dave, mentions that there was a release party on Tuesday. It’s strange that the brewery is active on both Twitter and Facebook and wouldn’t utter a single word about bringing back a beer after two years.
While I’m at it, Dave also has an update on construction of the new brewery: “FCB’s new building is coming along well. Planned opening of their new brewery and eatery (Alimente) is on track for June 2010. The Alimente gastropub’s menu will focus on fresh local foods with seasonal changes. The restaurant will offer views of the brewery’s operations and will have a 31 seat bar, a private community room for events and a large patio facing the nearby golf course.”
Here’s a pic of the progress.
