(Chicago, IL) – Goose Island Beer Co. CEO, John Hall, announced last week that the brewery will introduce a new year-round draft beer, Green Line Pale Ale, around Chicago.
ChicagoBusiness.com reports: “The lighter American pale ale will be the Chicago-based brewer’s 26th beer and will be available at 50 restaurants and bars throughout the area, CEO John Hall said.” […] “The beer will be launched at restaurant Uncommon Ground in Edgewater on Monday night.”
[2/1 Update: Goose Island’s Green Line Project site, launched today, does a much better job of illustrating Goose Island’s green initiative] The article puts a peculiar slant on the beer claiming it is environmentally friendly because it is only in kegs and forgoes the carbon footprint of bottles. I’ve never heard of a brewery marketing its keg-only beers as environmentally friendly for that reason though it sounds like the brewery is looking into taking some steps to go green.
Commercial Description: “Green Line Pale Ale is a light-colored, immensely sessionable American pale ale with a pronounced, bright, American hop aroma and citrus flavor. Notes of biscuit and lightly toasted malt create the backbone for Green Line’s pleasant, crisp bitterness.”
Beer stats:
ABV: 5%
IBU: 30
OG: 13
Malts: Pale
Hops: Amarillo, Simcoe, Liberty, Columbus
