Schorschbraeu’s Georg Tscheuschner and BrewDog’s James Watt on BBC Radio

Note: Another video from live Sink! tasting attached below.

BrewDog‘s James Watt and Schorschbraeu‘s Georg Tscheuschner were invited onto BBC Radio 5 Live the other night to discuss their competition for the world’s strongest beer.

The two actually came off much more congenial than I would have expected.  Georg said that he thought the original BrewDog Sink the Bismarck! video was very funny.  It will be interesting to see how far these two breweries push the envelope.

Meanwhile, it looks like those who are looking past the controversy and getting to try Sink! seem quite astounded by it:

  1. Glad to see someone recorded this for posterity 🙂

I listened to it on the BBC site the following morning and was glad it was civilized, despite the presenter continuing to use words like “bunker” and Blitzkrieg”. I think James expressed the original idea of Sink! well, while I fully agree with Georg’s interpretation of the German beer world and his desire to challenge tastes here in Germany.
