(Chicago, IL) – Half Acre Beer Co. sent along an interesting bit of news in its newsletter yesterday.

“We’re pleased to announce that Half Acre will be installing a canning line at the end of this month. Craft beer and cans are a great combination and we’re eager to make this change. What does this mean for you? Once we’re rolling out cans from the brewery we will begin to transition from six-packs of 12oz bottles to four-packs of 16oz cans. That’s right, Tall Boys! We’ll begin by canning two beers, Daisy Cutter Pale Ale and Gossamer Golden Ale. That means Half Acre cans will be a reliable friend come late April.”

Daisy Cutter Pale Ale has already been available on tap and in 22 oz. bombers for a while. It also happens to be the #2 American Pale Ale in the world behind Three Floyds Alpha King. Gossamer, also brewed year-round, debuted on tap at the brewery this past fall and is only 4.2% ABV compared to Daisy’s 5.2%.

Speaking of the cans, Half Acre says, “They are the future.” Could Half Acre Lager and/or Over Ale join these in cans eventually?
