(Asheville, NC) – Per MountainX.com, Highland Seven Sisters Abbey Ale will be available from March to May.
Label Description: “This Abbey Style Dubbel Ale earns its appellation by being brewed with double the normal grain bill and the addition of Belgian dark candi sugar. Fermenting with Trappist yeast creates dark fruit esters. Pilsner, Pale, Extra Special and Chocolate malts evoke classic Belgian Ale sweet aromas with a hint of nuttiness. Use of Hallertau Hersbrucker and German Select hops enhance authenticity and provide a restrained bittering of 20 IBUs and a slight spicy aroma.” 6.5% ABV.
According to Highland’s website, this fills out the seasonal 6-pack lineup. Cattail Peak Wheat is a summertime beer, Clawhammer Oktoberfest follows it in autumn, Black Mountain Bitter arrives in the winter and now, Seven Sisters Abbey Ale arrives as a springtime release. Highland offers a couple other seasonals in large bottle format as well: Cold Mountain Winter Ale and Tasgall Ale.
The brewery’s Facebook page mentions that this was released on tap late this past week so look for it on shelves soon.
