(Anchorage, AK) – Midnight Sun Brewing is set to shake up its lineup a bit with a new year-rounder called Mayhem.
Midnight Sun Mayhem is a Belgian-style Double IPA featuring a hop mix of Simcoe, Columbus, Summit and Amarillo. The only malt used is Pils malt. 100 IBUs and 8.2% ABV.
Beer description and origin: “Chaotic yet hypnotic, Mayhem is a deliberate Double IPA, brewed and conditioned with a special Belgian yeast that contributes complexity and spice. Abundant American hops offer grapefruit, pine, must and mint, which play off the fullness and sweetness of pale malts then provide a biting yet enticing finish.
The recipe for this beer originated from one of our favorite 2007 Deadly Sin beers: Wrath. Mayhem is an incredible addition to our year-round Belgo-American line-up.”
The beer is already on tap at the brewery but will be released in 22 oz. bottles beginning in mid-April. Bottles will be distributed around year-round to Alaska, Washington, Oregon and California (a new distribution state for Midnight Sun). It will be available on-draft year-round in Alaska though only “on occasion” in the other three states.
