(Seattle, WA) – Pike Brewing will follow the recently-released Double IPA with Pike Dry Wit this spring.
Pike Double IPA and Dry Wit are the first beers in a new “Sensational Seasonal” program from the brewery. Double IPA, which debuted at the first annual Seattle Beer Week, was released on March 1st on draft and in 22 oz. bottles.
Dry Wit was released on March 22nd on draft only. According to Pike Brewing Head Brewer, Drew Cluley, “It was in celebration of the end of Winter series that the Latona pub was doing. It is currently available only at the Latona, Hopvine and Fiddlers Inn pubs in Seattle. On April 7th, it will debut at the Pike Pub (after we complete our tap expansion from 11 faucets to 14).”
A cask firkin of it was served yesterday at The Washington Beer Commission’s Cask Festival (see that tiny pic in the upper left corner under “craft beer photos?”) featured a cask firkin of it yesterday and Cluley notes that it was “extremely popular.”
Beer Stats: 5% ABV, OG: 1.046, IBU: 20, 92% Organic Ingredients
Look for Dry Wit to hit 22 oz. bottles and draft (more widely) in mid-May. Auld Acquaintance will follow in autumn.
I went to Fiddler’s Inn in Seattle while visiting a friend last month, and fell in love with this beer!! Without knowing that the Pike Dry Wit was only available at Fiddler’s, Latona Pub and Hopvine at the time, I grabbed a few of my buddies and went to our local bar (in Stanwood) looking for this new gold. I was shocked when the bartender told me they didn’t have it and hadn’t heard of it! So, long story short, we drove all the way back to Seattle right then just to get a cold one (totally worth it though, and my friends loved it too!!)
That’s impressive, Meagan. How far is Stanford from Seattle? I live on the other coast so no frame of reference.
