(Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing has released details about the next beer in the Collaboration Series, Saison du BUFF . . . and news of a change coming to Stone Old Guardian.

You can read the full press release here.

Bar Biz Mag reports:

“Stone Brewing, San Diego, California, is teaming up with Dogfish Head and Victory Brewing Companies, of Delaware and Pennsylvania, respectively, to brew and distribute Saison du BUFF, a 6.8% alc/vol craft beer brewed with parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. This beer will be brewed three times, once at each brewery using the same recipe.” Stone will release it in late April, Victory in July, and DFH in August per Norman Miller.

Additional notes via Jacob McKean, Stone Brewing Social Coordinator (some of these build off of the other Stone post from earlier today):

# The Stone Old Guardian Belgo-Barley Wine is a small batch of 2010 Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine fermented with a saison yeast. Speaking of Old Guardian, next year we won’t be releasing a “standard” version of the beer, but we will be releasing a new (yet to be determined) treatment of Old Guardian. So if you’re a fan of Stone Old Guardian, stock up on the 2010 edition because next year’s will be quite different.

# The Discovery Channel visit was for a segment of the show “How Stuff Works”, as we mentioned on Twitter. The waterless urinals film shoot (writing that makes me chuckle), was for a documentary about water and water conservation by the producer of “Food Inc.”, a film we are a big fan of.

# In other big news, we’re rolling out in Chicago starting April 1st, and we’ve planned an insane (and ever-growing/changing) week+ of events, which can be found here (including highly noteworthy beer lists).

# Also worth mentioning are two upcoming events: 1) Stone Oakquinox, a decadent Dr. Bill-organized festival on April 18th, featuring 99 wood-aged beers and counting (http://www.stoneworldbistro.com/oakquinox/), and 2) our IRS Celebration on April 14th, which, in addition to 5 different Stone Imperial Russian Stout vintages on tap, will feature a special 10th anniversary IRS blend of multiple vintages (including a bourbon barrel treatment; word from the tasting panel was that this blend was incredible), more info.
