[4/27 Update: Surly Four is available in stores as of today. Already sold out at Four Firkins (pre-sale).]

(Brooklyn Center, MN) – Surly Brewing has received label approval for Four: Double Espresso Milk Stout.

Label description: “In the Surly brewhouse brewing our Anniversary beers mean one thing, forget what ya know and try something different. Brewed with too many Espresso beans, too much Roasted Barley and a healthy dose of Milk sugar, this Double Espresso Milk Stout has layers of chocolate, espresso and smoke flavors intertwined with a velvety lush body.”

Available on draft right now and coming soon in 750 mL bottles. It is a 60 barrel batch with approximately half going into bottles. For comparative purposes, Cigar City brewed 30 barrels for its Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout and Three Floyds does 40 barrels for Dark Lord (per Portsmouth’s Tod Mott).

The label art is drawn by Adam Turman.

Given that the brewery is heavily involved in the social media space, the best way to track updates on this would probably be on Twitter and Facebook.
