This edition covers three Pennsylvania breweries. Let’s get to it.
From Weyerbacher Brewing’s latest newsletter:
“Blanche has been bottled (as you can see above) and is being sent out to distributors!!! This is my spring lawnmower beer (and it should be yours too!).
Tiny (the next in the Cork ‘N Cage Series) is also in the bottle and is just about finished conditioning. The whole crew here has had a month of hand bottling and corking this beauty, so you should be looking for it on the shelves very soon.”
Look for Kilo (next in Brewer’s Select Series) info soon. Both Kilo and Fifteen will be released in time for Philly Beer Week at the beginning of June.
The brewery announced distribution plans for Minnesota late this April.
From Troegs Brewing:
“We will begin shipping The Flying Mouflan [in 22 oz. bottles] the week of April 19 with distribution completed in early May.”
The brewery also just released Scratch #28. “For Scratch #28, the Tröegs team decided to brew a beer to celebrate the early spring weather. The resulting brew is a take on the Roggenbier style—an uncommon German ale brewed with a portion of rye malt and a weizenbier yeast strain. ”
Finally, a new keg label approval from Sly Fox Brewing . . .
Last month, the brewery did the unthinkable, formally registering a new brand with the PLCB called, “Unregistered Ale.” The brewery has not returned a request for comment though my guess is that this is coming sooner than later. The Pennsylvania beer raids have drifted out of the national beer spotlight though talk could heat up against with the first hearing on them coming early next week.
Don’t forget to plan ahead for Sly Fox Bock Fest and the annual Sly Fox Goat Race. It will be held on Sunday, May 2nd, and is currently one of the most active events on Beer Advocate.
