(Baltimore, MD) – The folks at The Brewer’s Art like to keep a good secret. This week, it was finally revealed.
The Baltimore Sun’s Sam Sessa reports, “The Mount Vernon brew pub, which already distributes Resurrection in 750-milliliter glass bottles, hopes to have six-pack cans of the abbey-style ale in stores before Memorial Day, according to co-owners Tom Creegan and Volker Stewart.” The cans are likely to go for around $9.99 per the article.
Long-time beer columnist, Jack Curtin, was on the case months ago but The Brewer’s Art “flatly denied” the rumor. Curtin did break the news initially this week, reporting that Sly Fox Brewing will can the beer (they also bottle it for The Brewer’s Art).
To make matters more interesting, I’ve had the federally-approved label above in my mitts for two months but wrote it off as a bottle design upgrade. Most cans typically feature the logo twice around the perimeter so I didn’t realize I had such an interesting story here. Whoops!
Chalk this up as another victory for the craft beer can movement.
