(Auckland, NEW ZEALAND) – Bottles of Epic Brewing have arrived to the U.S.

Luke Nicholas from Epic Brewing appeared on the most popular tech internet show (or one of them) recently [vid embedded below] and announced that his beers have arrived in Oakland, California. The Shelton Brothers are the importers for this one which is expected to hit distribution soon. Nicholas named BevMo as one store (chain) getting shipments though it’s unclear whether there is an exclusivity agreement.

Epic Armageddon IPA, Epic Mayhem, Epic Pale Ale and Epic Lager have arrived in 500 ml bottles. Epic Pale Ale ranks 12th among all American Pale Ales on RateBeer.

Nicholas says that Armageddon was inspired by a visit he made to Lagunitas and Russian River Brewing (or one or the other- hard to tell from the interview). 42 hop flowers go into each bottle of that beer, a tribute to Douglas Adams’ book, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Fun fact: Nicholas was the first brewer that joined Twitter. For those who want to meet him while he’s Stateside, he will be attending next week’s Craft Brewers Conference in Chicago; he will be a judge for the World Beer Cup.
