(Mukilteo, WA) – Ever heard of a band called Queensrÿche? If not, maybe it is time that you have.
Guitarist, Michael Wilton, started this heavy metal band nearly 30 years ago. Queensrÿche achieved most of its success in the late 1980’s and up until grunge took off in 1991. The band is still putting out albums and playing concerts though. Now Wilton is trying his hand at a new craft: beer.
The new beer, a 6% ABV Pale Ale, takes after Wilton’s nickname, “Whip.” Here is the scoop from his website:
“Whip Ale is now brewed by Diamond Knot Brewery in Mukilteo, WA. We had to expand beyond the production limits we were at, and Diamond Knot is the perfect fit to meet our goals and the demand. We have spent the off time to perfect the recipe in order to bring you the same Whip Ale that we initially introduced back in December…
We have also received our federal label approval for kegs and bottles. With the new label approval we are now allowed to bottle Whip Ale, and will be doing so soon (in 22 ounce bomber bottles). In the mean time, we are going re-fill the Seattle market, and work on expanding beyond that. Any inquiries for Whip Ale can be directed to [email protected].”
There is even a link to Whip Ale merchandise.
According to the Seattleist, the beer was previously available on a limited basis in Washington and, at that time, brewed by Lazy Boy Brewing.
