(Fort Collins, CO) – New Belgium Belgo IPA and Imperial Berlinerweiss will debut in the Lips of Faith Series later this year.
The beers are expected to be released in the July-Sept timeframe according to a brewery representative. Already available on shelves are New Belgium Eric’s Ale and Belgian Blonde.
Attached below are the beer descriptions for all four beers.
Belgo IPA
Belgo IPA is a Belgian twist on India Pale Ale made with Cascade, Amarillo, Willamette and Chinook hops. Belgo opens with citrus and floral tones from generous hopping, then gives way to soft fruit tones implied by the authentic Trappist yeast strain.
Medium-bodied with just above 7% abv, Belgo IPA finishes clean with a touch of hop linger.
ABV 7 %, IBU 70 %
Hops/Spicing: Amarillo, Cascade, Chinook, Willamette.
Imperial Berlinerweiss
Based on a centuries-old German style of Berlinerweiss, this Imperial version opens with lemon, citrus and delicate floral tones. The beer is naturally sour from a lactic fermentation and a dash of Brettanomyces. Berlinerweiss pours slightly hazy with a pleasantly dry finish.
ABV 7.5%
Hops/Spicing: Target hops, Brettanomyces
Eric’s Ale
Eric’s Ale, named for long-time New Belgium brewer Eric Salazar, combines a dry, sour beer aged up to three years in oak foeders with a semi-sweet, higher alcohol base beer. The resulting blend is re-fermented with peach juice, creating a smooth ale with subtle peach tones and a warm, spicy finish. The aroma has pleasant hints of vanilla and tropical fruit, the wood characteristics are present but nicely muted.
ABV 6.9%, IBU 16
Hops/spicing: Peach Juice
Belgian Blonde
This strong golden ale is light in color, with moderate body and a crisp finish. Saaz and Styrian Golding hops offer a distinctive Nobel hop aroma. A Belgian yeast strain produces banana and clove notes for a remarkably crisp flavor profile. Belgian Blonde is delightfully inviting and approachable with a decidedly adult 8.5% alcohol content.
ABV 8.5% , IBU 30
Hops/spicing: Saaz and Styrian Golding hops
