(Eugene, OR) – Oakshire Brewing will soon put one of its year-round draft offerings in bottles for the first time.

Oakshire Amber Ale is slated to become the brewery’s third year-round beer behind Watershed IPA and Overcast Espresso Stout. According to Brewmaster, Matt Van Wyk, Oakshire’s plan is to bottle it on May 11th along with another new one, Line Dry Rye, though that depends on how soon the TTB approves the LDR label.

Here are the stats on Amber Ale:

ABV: 5.4%
IBUs: 24
OG: 12.8 Plato
2-row malted barley, Crystal, Munich and Dark specialty malts, Northwest hops

Line Dry Rye, another beer that has been previously available on draft only, will be the brewery’s new summer seasonal in bottles. It is a Rye Pale Ale made with honey and should last into August. With Ill-tempered Gnome released this past winter and O’Dark:30 released earlier this spring, the only season yet to be determined is fall.

As with the rest of Oakshire’s stable of bottled beers, these are available in 22’s and will only be available in Oregon.

The brewery continues to work on its Single Batch program, a series of 15 barrel-batch draft-only one-offs. Some of Oakshire’s previous beers in the series include: Smokin’ Bagpipes, Collaborative Evil, Two Wheeler IPA, Red Wiggler, Duck Billed Platypus, and Vit. Oakshire is also building an inventory of Bourbon barrels and wine barrels. Van Wyk says that wild beers are in the future though it will take some time.

. . . And next time you’re at the brewery, ask about the urban farm that Oakshire is starting. They just received some baby chickens that they will be raising.

  1. A couple corrections here:

Oakshire Amber is our third YEAR-ROUND BEER to be bottled.

Line Dry Rye is our Summer Seasonal, the third SEASONAL in a four seasonal rotation. Only Fall is left to decide!

PS – Those baby chickens grow FAST!

  2. Thanks Jeff. I apologize for the error. I’m so used to talking about seasonals on this blog. Creature of habit!

I changed ‘seasonal’ to ‘year-round beer’ in the second paragraph. I think that’s the only change I needed to make. That or I’m way too tired this morning to see any others.
