A commenter linked to this 40 min. interview with Mikkel from Mikkeller. This is one of the more candid interviews I’ve seen with a brewer because it doesn’t revolve around tasting beers during the interview.
He reveals that he’s a part-time school teacher and says he exports 85% of his beer. There are also some candid remarks about his “hate-love” relationship with RateBeer beginning at the 21 minute mark. Lots of interesting stuff.

Great interview here – it’s pretty rare to see something this candid and quite refreshing. I liked the stuff about RateBeer… we’re a tough audience to please all of the time and that’s okay. If you keep brewing good beer, the rest of it will take care of itself. It’s tough to always be chasing down trends and I don’t really think that’s necessarily where a brewer needs or wants to be. It certainly gets the hype, but hype isn’t the only way to pay your bills.

This is indeed a refreshing interview for Mikkel. The beer did sure help him to become straightforward in this candid interview.
If I were the interviewer with such unpredictable guy, I’d surely be taken aback. Mikkel is utterly one interesting personality, maybe even without a beer on his hand. Cheers!
