In this edition: Rogue Double Chocolate Stout, Lompoc Heaven’s Helles, Great Lakes Lake Erie Monster and Saranac Octoberfest . . .
Rogue Double Chocolate Stout, a mammoth version of Rogue’s classic American Stout, has received label approval from the feds. Rogue Ales President, Brett Joyce, told me a couple weeks ago that this will be released in September in 750’s along with Rogue John John Hazelnut.
From Tuesday’s newsletter: “Lompoc Heaven’s Helles is a German style pale lager, golden straw in color with a floral aroma and a clean, crisp finish. At 5.3% ABV, it is extremely drinkable. We’ll be releasing it in bottles and on draft [this Friday], so try some at the pub, and buy some to take home.
We’ll also be pouring our Cherry Condor, a pale ale fermented with sour cherries in bourbon barrels, 2008 Pagan Porter, 2009 Brussels’ Stout, Spring Bock and C-Note.”
The release party for Great Lakes Lake Erie Monster may have been yesterday but you will be able to find 4-packs in stores in/around Cleveland very soon. This Imperial IPA is expected to last into July. Full bottle shot and description can be found on the Great Lakes Brewing site.
Finally, Saranac Octoberfest will feature a new look when it comes out later this year.
