BrewDog Update: Paradox Macallan, cans, core lineup, reality tv appearance?

BrewDog-Paradox-Macallan

(Aberdeen, SCOTLAND) – A smattering of BrewDog tidbits . . .

More BrewDog Paradox Macallan (Batch 11) is being shipped to the States as I write this. Managing Director, James Watt, estimates that only about 180 cases are coming over for the journey across the Atlantic. This version has been aging in Macallan Whiskey barrels for 12 months. Watt says that the Whiskey character has been subdued from the Batch 11 previously released.

It is looking more and more like BrewDog will join the beer can movement and introduce either 77 Lager or Punk IPA in cans. If they go with 77 Lager, they would probably be putting it in tall boys. Of course, 77 Lager is not available in the U.S. currently, even in bottle form.

The brewery formally announced its core lineup recently: Hardcore IPA, Punk IPA, 77 Lager, Trashy Blonde and 5am Saint. Trashy Blonde is another one that is not available in the States. Missing from this list is Rip Tide Imperial Stout. Apparently, this one is pushed more aggressively in the U.S.

Finally, below is a video of Watt appearing on a national reality tv show over in the UK. It’s not every day that you see someone in the beer world on reality television so I found it to be interesting. (Hat tip to the BrewDog blog).
