GIB IPA bottleVancouver Springs Into Sunny Weather with Brockton IPA true West Coast IPA is the perfect thirst quencher

Vancouver, BC – Beer enthusiasts searching for a true West Coast IPA need to go no further than Vancouver favourite Granville Island Brewing’s Brockton IPA. Named after Brockton Oval in Stanley Park, Brockton IPA is a golden-coloured, well-hopped and refreshing India Pale Ale currently in its sophomore year.

Brockton IPA is Granville Island Brewing’s most recent addition to its core line-up of award-winning beers and was chosen by British Columbians in a series of taste tests to complement the true West Coast lifestyle.

“Vancouverites love the arrival of sun – it means getting outdoors, enjoying the West Coast lifestyle and a refreshing West Coast beer,” says Walter Cosman, general manager of Granville Island Brewing. “What better way to celebrate spring than with a Brockton IPA!”

Launched in 2009 for the microbrewery’s 25th Anniversary, Brockton IPA was a big hit in its critically acclaimed first season. Beer critics and fans from all over enjoyed the refreshing, bright golden coloured IPA with up-front pale malt flavours with aromas of citrus fruit and marmalade underpinned with a lingering yet moderate hop bitterness.

– “Rich honey-gold in colour and 6% alcohol by volume, this IPA is the real deal. The nose combines canned peach fruitiness with nutty hop, a bit of toasted grain and some light, fresh citrus notes, while the body offers beautiful balance between caramelly-fruity malt and palate cleansing bitterness that starts dry and nutshell-ish, grows to a more citrus peel quality and ends with a dry, orangey and superbly appetizing finish.” ~ Stephen Beaumont, thatstheSPIRIT.com

– “Brockton IPA is copper- coloured and well-rounded in the malt department with a satisfying hoppy bite…it is very quaffable and not overwhelming in the bitterness department.” ~ Taps Magazine

– “This brewery has done a great deal of work in developing a market for craft beer in Vancouver.…it [Brockton IPA] will definitely draw more Vancouverites to craft beer, and for that we are thankful.” ~ Love good beer blog
