(Flagstaff, AZ) – Not far from one of the most amazing sights in the country, a new brewery emerges.
Lumberyard Brewing is scheduled to open for business officially on May 17th. It is the brainchild of Winifred Hanseth who also owns the nearby Beaver Street Brewing. Hanseth wasn’t sure yet how the two locations will differentiate in terms of beer selection but they will be working in tandem.
The brewery’s flagship, Lumberyard Red Ale, is expected to be available in 12 oz. cans in two weeks. Lumberyard will also offer a wide range of beers on tap: Red Ale, IPA, Gold, Hefe, Apricot, Helles Bock, Belgian Pale, Imperial Red, Imperial Stout, Belgian Trippel, Lumberjack Lager and Pipeline Pilsener.
Lumberyard is working with Alliance Distributing who will be focusing on kegs of Red, IPA and Gold for now. Also be on the lookout for more limited-run beers later this year when the brewery introduces the Lumberyard Sawtooth Series in 22 oz. bottles.
Hate to say this, but I am including craft breweries in my general Arizona boycott. As long as the laws in the state stand, I am going out of my way to not support the Arizona economy in any way.
Hey AJ! Good, Stay Away! The AZ law is no different than a federal law thats already in place. Mabye u should boycott America too&move to Mexico. U should hear their immigration laws. They shoot their poor neighbor to the south when they enter Mexico. Ill be enjoying some beer here in a nation that protect itself.
Ditto to what Brandi said. How ignorant and petty to boycott a company and people that had absolutely nothing to do with the passing of the law. I’ll be right there with you enjoying some great local beers.
Stopped by today. Impressed with the resoration but not with much else. There is a charge for everything including if you would like to have fries with your sandwhich. Pitchers are overpriced in my book but then again I moved here from Missoula where big sky brewing only charges $6 for a growler fill. But alas this is touristville AZ and they can get away with it I suppose. But don’t expect me to visit too often until prices are reasonable.
I’ll will be stopping by the Lumberyard this weekend on my way to the ditch for a 3 day hike. I’m excited to have another watering hole in Flag. As for A.J. Don’t worry, you won’t be missed. By the way, where are you from? Just want to add it to the list of places I’m boycotting. So far, the list doesn’t include any place I’d want to go anyway.
I was so excited when it opened up and I wanted to like it. I’ve tried it a few times and have been disappointed on every visit. Both the beers and the food tastes like low quality. They offer no sides with the sandwiches, so a full meal ends up being expensive. And, the service is horrid. Beaver Street is way better IMHO.
The Hanseth’s have been friends of my familyfor twenty years. I thought the food was good and for a tourist town like Flagstaff the prices are good. It’s true that fries don’t come with the sandwhich but I could only eat half of mine without being full because it was so big.
It will be nice to have another great place to visit when I do the Cardinals training experience. Nicest of all is that I will not have to see Al.
The beer is OUTSTANDING! I dont care for the menu.
Hey AJ- If you dont have a green card- Im calling the patty wagon, stupid idiots like you need to get out.
