(Copenhagen, DENMARK) – The nomadic brewer is at it again.
Mikkeller will soon have 180 cases of Mikkeller Barrel-Aged Breakfast Stout shipped to the States. By the time it is packaged up, it will have been aged in bourbon barrels for close to three months. “This is the second use of the barrels,” says Mikkel Borg Bjergsø. “I wanted to keep the bourbon profile pretty moderate.” The beer is in 500mL bottles and 7.5% ABV, brewed at Nøgne Ø in Norway.
The new Breakfast Stout is one in many beers that Mikkel is sending to the U.S. in 2010. Read more about the other beers here.
In other Mikkeller news, Mikkel recently opened up a bar in Copenhagen. There are 15 taps with 9-10 Mikkeller beers and the other 5-6 being from other breweries including Three Floyds. The current tap list looks incredible. Here are some pics from Peter Myrup Olesen who originally broke the news of the bar opening at Beerticker.DK: Pic 1 – Pic 2 – Pic 3 – Pic 4.
