(Spartanburg, SC) – RJ Rockers Brewing will bottle Rockhopper for the first time next month.
RJ Rockers introduced a new IPA on tap earlier this year that will now be available in 22 oz. bottles year-round. The beer will be available in bottles beginning in mid-June in the following areas: Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., North Carolina (Boone), Georgia (Augusta and Athens) and South Carolina.
Rockhopper, named after a type of penguin (and heavily featured in the Happy Feet film), hits 7.5% ABV and 90 IBUs. According to Sales Director, Jason McElveen, it is hopped with Warrior and Amarillo; the brewers also dry-hop it with Cascade. There is a 90 minute boil and 9 hop additions total for this beer.
Look for Rockhopper in one month; it is expected to retail for $3.99 to $5.99 per 22 oz. bottle.
