(Boston, MA) – Here is the blurb from Boston Beer Co.‘s latest newsletter:
“Last month we told you that our new Latitude 48 IPA was only available in the Samuel Adams Summer Styles variety pack.
Due to some tremendous response to this beer, we’re planning on making it available in 6-pks starting in September. So enjoy it as part of the Summer Styles pack while it lasts and then look for it again come fall!
For those who’ve missed it, Samuel AdamsĀ® Latitude 48 is a traditional IPA with generous portions of select hops from regions of Germany, the UK, and the US all near the 48th latitude. It’s packed with lots of flavor sure to appeal to the hop head in all of us!”
Boston Beer didn’t specifically say in the newsletter whether this would be a seasonal or a year-round brew. Regardless, this is music to the ears of many seeking another affordable IPA six-pack option. The beer has earned a B+ so far on Beer Advocate.

I’m drinking one from the 6 pack right now and am surprised to note that it doesn’t sport the typical Brewmasters branding. This appears to be an independent beer, more like the Boston Lager and Sam Light than any Brewmasters or Seasonal brew… Could this mean they plan to heavily distribute this alongside Boston Lager to supermarkets and gas stations. I hope so
Hmm, Boston Lager is the #1 or #2 selling craft beer in the USA. I don’t think it will appear in gas stations on a wide scale. At my local store, there is an entire cooler door dedicated to Sam Adams products, many of which don’t carry Brewmasters branding. They have an extensive line and this is a solid addition.
Enjoying my first one of these now. Picked up a 6pack. Very nice. VERY hoppy!
Actually that’s probably one of the maltier IPAs that you will get your hands on!
