Speaking of the devil: Saranac Pale Ale now available in cans

(Utica, NY) – Foot, meet mouth.

Earlier this evening I criticized F.X. Matt Brewing for inviting a competing brewery to use its canning line when all the right elements are there for it to can its own brands. Sure enough, within a couple hours, I was tipped off by a colleague in the industry that the brewery is, in fact, about to do just that.

Perhaps instead of criticizing the brewery about the lack of canning, I should’ve been asking why they employ people to keep up a website and maintain a Twitter and Facebook account and miss the opportunity to announce news like this. A web search turned up literally nothing. Ah, but I digress.

Saranac Pale Ale is already with the wholesaler and cans will hit streets for the first time this week. Beer fans will be able to buy it in both 16 oz. 4-packs and 12 oz. 12-packs. The 4-packs will be available year-round and the 12-packs will stick around just for the summer season.

  1. Saranac’s Pommegranite Wheat has been available in cans for a couple of years now.

  2. Hey Denis, I don’t doubt that it may have been available in cans at one point but I did a ssearch for the beer in Google and all I saw was bottle pics. Maybe it is only available in cans in one area?
