(Harrisburg, PA) – Appalachian Brewing is releasing a new one in bottles next week.

Remember Batch 666? This brew debuted in late 2008, then described by some as a winter warmer. Oddly enough, it’s making a comeback this month just as summer begins.

Per the latest newsletter, “Appalachian Batch #666 Ale premieres in 22 oz. bottles! Only 600 bottles were produced and they will go on sale at 6:00 pm, Wednesday June 16, at the Harrisburg brewery only. Individual bottles are $6.66 each and are limited to three per customer. 20 brewery-direct 12/22 oz. bottle cases are available for $66.60 this night only.” The ABV hits 7.7%.

kolschAlso on tap for this month is the newly-released Dom Blonde Kölsch . . .

Beer Stats: OG: 11.5, FG: 2.1, IBU: 25, ABW: 3.9, ABV: 5.0

Description: “The first in a series of two new specialty beers coming this year! This Kölsch-styled ale is clean, crisp, and delicately balanced. It has very subtle pear flavors and aromas. The subdued maltiness leads to a pleasantly refreshing finish. A fantastic summer brew!

The Kölner Dom (Cologne Cathedral), is one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany and has been Cologne’s most famous landmark since its completion in the late 19th century. True Kölsch can only be brewed if the brewery has a view of this famous cathedral, thus its’ appearance on our tap marker.”

IPAAppalachian just introduced the new IPA Series as well: “For a limited time we are offering a mini sampler of all of our three new IPAs. Zeus, Horizon, Simcoe, side-by-side, a hophead’s dream! This sampler is a series of single hop, small batch IPAs brewed in Camp Hill. These IPAs showcase the bitterness, flavor, and aroma of each particular hop variety.”

And coming next month is Hinterland Hefe Weizen. The beer will be previewed on 6/29 and officially released on 7/2 just in time for the holiday.

Beer Stats: OG: 13.2, FG: 3.0, ABW: 4.2, ABV: 5.3

hefeweizenBeer Description: “A special German wheat ale yeast produces clove and banana flavors during fermentation leaving this unfiltered beer with an incredibly spicy and fruity complexity!

Our Brewmaster has acquired many medals at the Great American Beer Festival for this beer style. A difficult, four-step infusion mash schedule produces the complexity of this traditional beer style.”
