(Portland, OR) – Got some news out of Cascade Brewing regarding The Vine and upcoming events and releases.

First off, Cascade The Vine ’09 is now available for sale in 750’s and will soon be sent out into Cascade’s distribution channel (check with your local distributor for availability- more info below). If you’re not in one of Cascade’s markets (or even if you are), you may be able to order the beer [pdf] directly from the brewery. Suggested retail/order price is $15.95.

Beer description: Cascade The Vine spends over a year of lactic fermentation and aging in small oak barrels. This “Northwest Style Sour Ale” is a blend of soured Triples, Blonde Quads and Golden ales that have been re-fermented and aged over six months with the fresh-pressed juice of white wine grapes. Bottle refermented. [Note: the ABV has dropped down to 8.33% from 9.2%.]

As for Cascade Vlad The Imp Aler and Bourbonic Plague, Vlad is not expected to be ready until at least the end of July and BP is toward the end of August. That time-frame is subject to change. Neither beer will be sent into distribution. In addition, look for the Barrelhouse to open no earlier than mid-July.

This Weekend’s Event:

Cascade Brewing Summer Solstice Party
Raccoon Lodge & Brew Pub, 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale, Portland
Saturday, June 19
1 to 9 pm

Raise your pint to mark the first day of summer at the Raccoon Lodge & Brew Pub’s annual Summer Solstice Celebration. The family friendly, all ages event features an afternoon of live music, including Cascade Brewmaster Ron Gansberg’s bluegrass-folk band, Black Lodge, and The Redeemed, a Portland-based Cascade Country band with a hint of rockabilly and swing. No cover charge. There will be delicious bbq meats roasted over an applewood fire as well as other food for purchase.

Most exciting will be the debut of ‘The Four Goses of the Apuckerlypse!’ This is a one-time opportunity to try and compare all four of Cascade Brewing’s Goses that have been stored away specifically for this party. We’ll be pouring last fall’s, winter’s, this spring’s and debuting this year’s summer gose: a classic style gose, this fairly light wheat beer was brewed with coriander and salt and soured slightly. There will also be a full barrel of our Summer Solstice IPA based on brewer Jon Berry’s recipe and made with Summit and Chinook hops. The ceremonial rolling out of this barrel on a handcarved wooden cart will take place at 5 pm.”
