Midnight Sun Because, Tree Hugger debut soon and Pride returns

9CB_because-small(Anchorage, AK) – Here’s an update courtesy of today’s Midnight Sun Brewing newsletter.

Midnight Sun Because will finally debut on draft on Sunday after a long delay. The beer marks the final chapter in the brewery’s 2009 Crew Brews Series. It is descried as a “Double Dubbel” brewed with Ancho chilies and aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.

TREE HUGGER Organic Spruce Tip Stout, part of the 2010 Pop Ten Series debuts on draft next Wednesday. Though it sounds like an interesting beer, there is no description available yet. Here is a list of the rest of the beers in this series.

Finally, PRIDE Belgian-style Strong Pale Ale makes its return on July 2nd both in 22’s and on draft. It originally appeared in 2007 as part of the Deadly Sins Series.

Beer description: “PRIDE Belgian-style Strong Pale Ale boasts a glorious deep gold color and an amazing yet arrogant head. Plentiful pale malt creates beautiful, agile body. Assertive hops and Belgian yeast achieve charismatic floral and spice notes in aroma and flavor. But Pride’s predominant and unique character comes from its exposure to Brettanomyces in French oak Chardonnay barrels. At once tart and refreshing yet earthy and musty, Pride is unlike most beers on earth. And it’s bitter, lingering finish demands another sip.

Awarded a BRONZE medal at World Beer Cup 2008 and a SILVER at Great American Beer Festival 2008, Pride has much too much to boast about.”
