Foothills Brewing to start bottling beers

Foothills Hoppyum

(Winston-Salem, NC) – Foothills Brewing announced an upcoming bottle release and got label approval for two more this week.

[8/4 Update: Sam’s reports that they will have 600 bottles to sell.]

To date, Foothills’ bottling program has been limited to Sexual Chocolate Imperial Stout each February. According to Owner/Brewmaster, Jamie Bartholomaus, that’s a combination of having to focus on meeting demand of draft sales, not having the space to bottle and having to fill bottles on a two-head filler by hand. That requires manpower.

This will soon change, however, as the brewery is planning to release Hoppyum IPA, Torch Pilsner and People’s Porter all withing the next two months.

Says Bartholomaus, “Depending on our keg sales, they will hopefully be available for distribution but only in 1-5 places. We cannot produce a lot of them so we are really just planning on putting a few out but hopefully year-round.”

That said, those may not be the first new bottles that we see. Foothills’ Facebook page announces: Pop the Cap forever changed the beer scene in North Carolina on August 13, 2005, when house bill 392 was passed into law. On August 13, 2010, Foothills and Sam’s Quik Shop will celebrate at 11:00am by re-releasing Baltic Porter for sale in 22oz bottles. The bottles will ONLY be available at Sam’s Quik Shop and Foothills. Foothills brews will be flowing for your sampling pleasure! This beer will be available on draft at Foothills ONLY for 1 WEEK beginning 8/13/2010. No growler fills.
