(Providence, RI) – Narragansett Brewing will debut its Fest Lager in cans later this summer.
The brewery is targeting a launch for the beer in 16 oz. 6-pack cans during the last week of August. Fest is expected to be part of a new seasonal line at Narragansett.
Per the label: “What better way to celebrate Oktoberfest in New England than with a classic German-style lager? Narragansett Fest blends a rich malt profile with a subtly crisp hoppiness for a taste even Gambrinus, the Patron Saint of Beer, would find refreshing. So we offer this beer as a tribute to him, which is fitting, as his statue toasted all arriving visitors and workers outside our brewery for decades.”
A brewery sell sheet adds, “Gansett Fest is a traditional German Oktoberfest style beer. It’s brewed with the Highest Quality German malt & hops. Pilsner, Vienna, Light and Dark Munich malts make up the back bone of this beast to give it a rich malt profile. Northern Brewer and Tettnanger hops are added to give it a crisp but subtle hop flavor. 5.5% Alcohol by Volume & 22 IBUs.”
This is brewed up in Rochester under the supervision of award-winning Brew Master, Sean Larkin, from Trinity Brewhouse.
$8 is the suggested retail price on the 6-packs though this is also available in kegs and logs.
This is great news. I hope ‘Gansett works out a regular seasonal rotation of Bock in the spring, Fest in the fall, and Porter in the winter.
I missed not having Bock available this year.
